Novel monoamino monoamide dithiol (N2S2) chelators have been synthesized to determine the optimal chelator for the oxorhenium(V) and oxotechnetium(V) cores for use in a bifunctional chelator.  Chelator synthesis, labeling studies with 99mTcO4-and reactions of the novel chelators with rhenium starting materials to yield complexes will be discussed.  Both experimental findings and computational results will be used to determine the optimal chelator of these novel chelators for both oxorhenium(V) and oxotechnetium(V).
