Aflatoxin M1 (AFM1) and M2 (AFM2) were analyzed in milks, yogurt, milk powder, ice cream and sherbet. Each 50 Samples were collected during June to August in commercial markets and it was analyzed by HPLC-FLD. For the accurate analysis, derivatization methods by bromination and trichloroacetic acid were compared and bromination method was selected. Methods detection limit (MDL) were 25.08 � 202.31 ng/kg and recoveries were 64.17 � 101.86%. Detection rate and concentration levels of AFM1 were 6�74% and 14.48�270.94 ng/kg, respectively. Especially, AFM1 were detected in 74% of milk powder samples and 36% ice cream samples. The mean values of AFM1 in milk powder and ice cream samples were 270.94 and 33.16 ng/kg, respectively. In AFM2 case, detection rate were 2�10% and ranges were 20.62 � 55.67 ng/kg. Among the milk and milk powder samples, ultra heat treated (UHT) milks had lower AFM1 contaminations levels than pasteurized milks. Otherwise, UHT milks had higher AFM2 contamination levels though pasteurized milk powders had higher 95, 99, maximum contamination values.
