Understanding molecular interactions between formulated products and water sources is a crucial aspect of tank mix studies.  Salt forms of active ingredients with low solubility can form under specific tank conditions.  The identification and quantification of the active ingredient and counter ion provides important insight into the mechanism of salt formation and information necessary to resolve any compatibility issues.  Use of ion chromatography and HPLC in parallel provides an efficient process to identify and quantify insoluble material.
