Traditional upper division inorganic chemistry laboratory experiments were altered for students at a primarily undergraduate institution.  Experiments include comparing magnetic susceptibility measurements obtained from a magnetic susceptibility balance versus the Evans NMR method, comparing infrared CO stretches from a set of molybdenum carbonyl compounds with single ligand changes, and using copper patination as a tool to understand ligand field theory.
