Biochar is a potential amendment for soil quality improvement.  However questions remain regarding polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) contamination from biochar applied to soils.  We have conducted experiments to investigate the efficacy of simple and inexpensive biochar treatment methods for the mitigation of PAH soil contamination.  Tested methods include ultra-violet radiation and the application of Fenton's reagent.
