Cyclometalated Ruthenium(II)-imine complexes were synthesized and characterized by NMR and XRD. These novel ruthenacycles possessed C2 symmetry with one C2 symmetry axis through the Ru center. These complexes were proven to be effective catalysts and catalyst precursors for coupling reactions of alkynes with a variety of substrates under relatively mild and redox-neutral reaction conditions.
