N-(2-heteroaryl)-alpha-amino acetates are commonly used as starting materials in agro-chemistry and medicinal chemistry for preparation of active compounds.  This poster will present an improve method on making such compounds via the reaction between 2-aminoazines and �azoles with glyoxals and different alcohols in the presence of trifluoromethanesulfonic acid.  The new method avoided using rather hazardous perchloric acid and provided the desired products in comparable or superior yields and purity.
