Owing to their desirable metabolic properties and unique electronic characteristics, alkenyl fluoride-containing compounds are important medicinally. However, the construction of alkenyl C-F bonds remains quite challenging. Metal-catalyzed coupling reaction of alkenyl halides or pseudohalides with simple metal fluorides would be an ideal route to generate alkenyl fluorides.   In this poster, the novel palladium(0)-catalyzed fluorination of alkenyl sulfonates to generate alkenyl fluorides is presented. Various alkenyl triflates and nonaflates underwent fluorination under mild reaction conditions using the Pd/L1  catalyst system.
