The deoxygenation experiments of C18 fatty acids, a mixture of octadecanoic acid, octadecenoic acid and octadecadienoic acid as well as impurity (C16,20 fatty acids = 3 wt.%), were performed over 5 wt % Ir / SAPO-11 catalyst at different temperature (340, 360 and 380 oC) under 3.0 MPa, LSHV = 3.8 h-1 and H2/oil = 500 (v/v). The main product in catalytic deoxygenation of C18 fatty acids were C15, C17 and C19 hydrocarbons containing one less carbon than the corresponding acid. The highest selectivity of C15, C17 and C19 (total 78 %) was obtained under 340 oC with a little cracking and decreased with the temperature increased. The high selectivity of isomerization to C17 and C19 products was obtained and almost no isomerization of C15 was detected. The decarboxylation was the mainly deoxygenation pathway. No methane was detected in the gas products and also no water in the liquid products. The CO /C O2 ratio was 6 under the low temperature (340 oC) but almost no CO was detected when the temperature was higher than 360 oC.
