Polyetheramines, as supplied by the Huntsman Corporation, are well known aliphatic amine epoxy curing agents. These impart flexibility and toughness to cured epoxies. We will report on our work on synthesizing amides from polyether aliphatic diamines such as JEFFAMINE� EDR-148 (triethyleneglycol diamine), and p=aminobenzoic acid. These amides contain aromatic amino groups and will impart  different properties to the cured resin.
