This paper presents a qualitative analysis of data collected through semi-structured interviews with ANAPOGIL (Analytical Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning) students. Because POGIL has been shown to be an effective pedagogy in other areas of chemistry, it is anticipated that students in ANAPOGIL courses will have facility in solving analytical problems throughout the interview. The data were first open coded for emergent categories and then with respect to key process skills such as critical thinking, information processing, and problem solving. The preliminary data analysis will be presented along with a detailed explanation of our coding scheme.
