We hybridized (g-C3N4) with (WO3), which is visible light-responsive photocatalyst with high reduction ability.  The photocatalytic activity of the hybrid photocatalyst for (CO2) reduction was much higher than that of bare (g-C3N4) under visible-light irradiation.  Hybrid photocatalysts were prepared by three methods: using an agate mortar, sonication, and using a planetary mill.  The sample prepared by the planetary mill showed the highest photocatalytic activity for reduction of (CO2) among the prepared hybridized samples with other metdhods, pure (g-C3N4), and WO3 catalysts, and its photocatalytic activity was 2.4-times higher than that of (g-C3N4).   Photodeposition of silver or gold nanoparticles only on(g-C3N4) of the hybrid photocatalyst induced an increase in (CH3OH) because the loaded metal nanoparticles play an important role in multi-electron reduction of (CO2).  Photocatalytic activity of the Au-loaded hybrid photocatalyst composed of(g-C3N4) and WO3 was 1.7-times higher than that of the hybrid photocatalyst without Au loading.We also analyzed the reaction mechanism of the hybridized samples by double beam photoacoustic spectroscopy (DB-PAS) measurement and concluded that the high activity of the hybridized sample under visible-light irradiation is induced by charge transfer in a Z-scheme photocatalytic system.
