The use of PNP type non-innocent ligands for efficient H2 production from alcohol containing substrates (refs 2-5) and O2 from hydrogen peroxide (ref 1) is presented. It is shown that this type of catalyst seems to be very stable and capable of activating a wide range of substrates.
