Several ligand motifs have been explored to generate mixed transition metal bimetallic species. Ligand design incorporates hard and soft Lewis base sites to drive the formation of early-late transition metal complexes; the design strives to incorporate the strong reducing power of early transition metals with the relative labillity of late transition metals. Synthesis, characterization and reactivity will be presented.
