C-H functionalization provides significant promise for revolutionizing organic chemistry, making relatively inert C-H bonds flexible targets for modification. In this presentation, we will describe the design details of an immobilized dirhodium catalyst, Rh2(S-DOSP)3(S-Silica-SP). The novel catalyst performs well in a variety synthetically challenging yet highly useful C-H functionalizations, including cyclopropanation, combined C-H functionalization/Cope rearrangement with and without a subsequent retro-Cope rearrangement. The powerful yet, stable catalytic activity and facile recovery makes this catalyst an ideal candidate for future applications, including flow chemistry.
