A laboratory to study the Classic Belousov-Zhabotinsky reaction to aid students in understanding the chemical principles related to oscillatory systems of the atmosphere, predator-prey ecology, and the citric acid cycle was developed. Prelaboratory and post laboratory exercises incorporating previous work developed by Dr. Michelle Francl (NSF-0340873) aided in helping students model and understand their results, using Mathematica.
