While many students pursue jobs in industry or academia, science-based positions in the federal government can offer interesting, challenging, and rewarding career opportunities for young chemists. This paper will share some of the types of environmental science positions  at the US Environmental Protection Agency.  Positions exist in laboratory and office settings and can focus on basic research to domestic regulatory work to international policy collaborations.
