This research focuses on the reducibility and activity of nickel and vanadium oxide catalysts for oxidative dehydrogenation of propane (ODP) to propylene. The non-isothermal reduction of nickel oxide using hydrogen was investigated by temperature-programmed reduction (TPR) at three different heating rates (10, 15 and 20 ?C min-1). Reduction pattern prediction and reaction kinetics parameters determined using TPR data, nucleation/nuclei growth models, power law model and Avrami�Erofeev model. The reliability of kinetics parameters calculated from TPR data is tested by comparing experimental and calculated non-isothermal data. The testing and evaluation of catalyst is done by investigating oxidative dehydrogenation of propane to propylene. The evaluation of the catalysts was carried out in a fixed-bed reactor at temperatures of 350 to 600 �C. For this purpose, vanadium and aluminum incorporated into the framework of a mesoporous support, MCM-41, to form V-Al-MCM-41, and nickel impregnated onto the walls of the mesoporous support. . Ni loading on the catalyst is 1 to 15% by weight of the catalyst. The process achieves propane conversion between 6 to 22% and selectivity for propylene between 22 to 70%.
