The design and constructions of an Arduino-based Cyclic Voltammetry instrument (CV) is presented. Analytical chemistry students often study basic electronics and bread board instruments in order to better understand their design, functions, and analytical errors. A prototype Arduino shell was assembled and installed in a project box. An undergraduate research student conducted testing of this instrument. CV experiments with dilute concentrations of cadmium and copper ions are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the design and the learning experience. A high correlation of oxidation and reduction peak heights with concentration is shown over a wide range of concentration. There is good agreement between the Arduino and a commerical CV instrument.
