Progress towards a concise stereoselective total synthesis of flinderole B and C is described. As the borreverines were produced as racemates and the two flinderole diastereomers were reported to have similar optical rotation values, the enantioselective total synthesis of flinderoles A, B, and C has became important. This is to determine the optical rotation of pure enantiomers and along the way to develop few synthetic methodologies for new C�C bond and C�N bond formation. This work includes an enanantioselective conjugate addition of an unprotected enone-appended indole, Sonagashira coupling and an acid promoted or metal catalyzed amino cyclization.
