We propose designing a nanoplatform for tumor treatment without the necessity of surgery. Recent studies have proven that iron chelators and proapoptotic peptide sequences can be effective in tumor treatment. Combining the two treatment methods will produce a synergistic effect in tumor treatment. The concept will be completed by a tumor-homing peptide sequence that will enhance the fraction of the resulting nanoplatform that will be taken up by tumor tissue. The nanoplatform will be assembled around a central Fe/Fe3O4-nanoparticle featuring an iron-chelator (thiosemicarbazone analogue), a proapoptic peptide sequence. The efficacy of the nanoplatform will be tested on 4T1 Breast Cancer cell cultures.
