In the past few years, we have seen an increased need for access technologies to be implemented in the laboratory classroom so all students can participate as fully as possible in the laboratory portion of chemistry coursework.  This talk will communicate our efforts to serve students with a variety of needs for access technologies in the general chemistry and organic chemistry laboratories.  We will address the use of technologies in the prelaboratory lecture, demonstrations, and student experiments.  The technologies can be as simple as using modified graduated cylinders or changing the distance from the student to needed equipment to specialized computer-based probes for data collection.  Challenges include cost, availability, storage, modification of existing space, accuracy and precision of technology, identification of student needs, monitoring and evaluating student use of technology, training instructors and laboratory mentors in the use of the technology, and seamless incorporation of the technology into the laboratory experience of both students and instructors.
