cis-Sylvaticin is a member of the Annonaceous acetogenin family of natural products and possesses a relatively uncommon non-adjacent bis(tetrahydrofuran) core.  We will describe a strategy for the preparation of the core that takes advantage of its C2-symmetry.  Key steps in the synthesis include silicon-tethered ring-closing metathesis and two-directional tetrahydrofuran construction.
