In an effort to make our undergraduate organic laboratories greener we are writing our own laboratory manual which employs syntheses which are greener and utilize procedures and techniques which the students are more likely to use in research. One set of laboratory experiments utilizes the Rayonet Photochemical Reactor to carry out photochemical syntheses. A series of experiments will be described in this poster which utilize photochemistry in carrying out the synthesis. Descriptions of other techniques will also be included which have help to convert our laboratories to a research based environment.
