For the past three years, a POGIL/Lecture hybrid course has been taught for the year-long organic chemistry lecture sequence (enrollment 100-190) for biology majors/pre-professional students at CSUSB. Starting with Andre Straumanis' textbook and clicker quizzes available for Powerpoint, and building on the presenter's five years of experience using POGIL/lecture for smaller classes (up to 72 students), adaptions have been made to maximized the impact of POGIL activities on developing conceptual understanding. Lessons learned, new materials developed (including short �prelecture� videos and three bio-organic guided inquiry activities), and student success data and feedback will be presented.
