This presentation is an overview of nonparametric statistics, particularly as they are employed in Chemistry Education Research. The presentation will begin with the rationales for using nonparametric statistics focusing on the concepts of data scales and normality. Next, each nonparametric test will be presented with their intended use through hypothetical educational research scenarios and compared with their parametric counterparts.
