The importance of rac/meso isomerism in bis(indenyl) polypropylene catalysts is well-established. Here, the utility of alternate metallation reagents for the selective formation of rac metallocene isomers is discussed. The limitations of the scope of such metallation agents are discussed in the context of crystallographic data, and activation and polymerization activity of these complexes is addressed.
