A library of multi-functional silyl-thiols was synthesized through the selective reaction of various chlorosilanes and mercaptoethanols. Degradable cross-linked networks were prepared via the thiol-ene reaction between the multi-functional thiols and various �ene containing compounds. Degradation studies were performed under physiological conditions and the degradation products were analyzed using 1H NMR and GC-MS spectroscopies. Furthermore, a number of dendritic precursors were synthesized via the selective thiol-ene reaction of various vinylchlorosilanes and mercaptoethanols.
