Deionized water, highly contaminated with Campylobacter jejuni, was treated in a circulating system with use of the active layer of photosensitizer during its irradiation with a visible light. It was shown that the polymer films, such as ethylcellulose and poly(ethylene-co-vinyl acetate), doped with aluminium salt of fluorescent dyes, such as Fluorescein, Rose Bengal, Erythrosine, and Eosin Y are able to generate a singlet oxygen which is responsible for sanitizing effect. Such parameters, as choice of spectral region of visible light in range from  480 to 560 nm, which is able to excite the fluorescent dye molecules; concentration of electrolyte and flow rate are investigated and an experimental proof of the singlet oxygen generation is provided.
