Using the air- and moisture-stable Ni(II) s-aryl complex as a precatalyst, the Suzuki cross-coupling reactions of phenol derivatives with arylboronic acids have been investigated. The results show that this nickel complex is efficient for both aryl tosylates and mesylates. The catalytic systems can tolerate a variety of functional groups.
