A novel series of 4-methyl-6-[(1-alkyl-1H-1,2,3,-triazol-4-yl)methoxy]-2H-chromen-2-ones were synthesized starting from substituted 6-hydroxy-4-methyl coumarins. The essential characteristics are mild reaction conditions and straight forward workup procedure with good yields. The structures of the newly synthesized compounds have been confirmed by IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and MASS spectral data.[figure-1]
