We have been investigating the preparation of ligands that have multiple different phenols attached to simple diamines using both Mannich condensations and reductive aminations. The details of the synthesis and characterization of several new diamino-multi heterophenol ligands will be presented. These complexes have applications both in catalytic and bioinorganic modeling chemistry.
