New copper(II) and zinc(II) complexes have been synthesized by the reaction of Zn(4'-Clterpy)(NO3)2 and Cu(4'-Clterpy)(NO3)2 with isonicotinamide, 4-picolylamine and 4-hydroxypyridine. In all complexes the ligands N-coordinate to the M(4'-Clterpy)2+ metal centers leaving the amino groups or hydroxo groups available for hydrogen bonding. The characterization of these complexes, including x-ray diffraction studies, and their reactivity towards formation of dinuclear complexes will also be presented.
