SCIENCountErs is an outreach program designed to engage and excite a diverse next generation of scientists and engineers. Through weekly hands-on standard based activities students learn fundamental science and engineering concepts in a fun after school environment. The program was established in 2005 as an outreach program of the University of Wisconsin�Madison Nanoscale Science and Engineering Center (NSEC) and the UW-Madison Institute for Chemical Education to build strong connections to the community through collaboration with local Boys and Girls Clubs.  The success of the program has led to a nationwide expansion using the SCIENCoutnErs pedagogical model. To date seven partners are offering SCIENCountErs at 11 Boys and Girls Clubs across the nation. This poster will focus on the ongoing nationwide expansion and innovative mini-grant program to help seed SCIENCountErs programs nationwide.
