Azobenzene has been studied in recent years owing to the fact that the N=N bond has the ability to undergo pedal motion in the solid state.  It is well known that the physical properties of a solid can change upon addition of a second component.  The introduction of a resorcinol-based template can form a multicomponent organic co-crystal based upon hydrogen bonds that may lead to pedal motion.  To this end, crystallographic studies have been conducted to determine the extent of dynamic disorder within co-crystals of azobenzene derivatives and resorcinol.  Both symmetrical and unsymmetrical azocompounds were investigated and trends in disorder will be illustrated.  In this presentation, the overall structures of the co-crystals will be discussed along with the presence or absence of pedal motion.
