1,1,2,2-Tetrafluoroethyl-N,N-dimethylamine (TFEDMA) belongs to the family of a,a-FluorolkylAmino Reagents (FAR) which are useful for the conversion of alcohols into the corresponding fluoro compounds. This talk will describe the synthesis, use, and mechanisms of fluorination and difluoroacyl transfer of this compound.
