A 38-year career engaging undergraduates in experimental and computational research on gas-phase reactions of halocarbons will be briefly reviewed.  Our recent work on a novel, unimolecular interchange reaction we first described for hydrochlorofluorocarbons, HCFCs, will also be discussed.  Finally, some new investigations of 1,2-HX elimination reaction and the competition with the 1,1-HX (X = F and Cl) elimination reaction for HCFCs will be presented.
