A cost effective and environment friendly technique was introduced for green synthesis of nanoparticles using leaf extract of medicinal plant as reducing as well as capping agent having antibacterial efficacy. This research idea was extended for development and application of a novel method for preparation of nano composite materials with soil and sand. The toxicological effect of the nanoparticles and the nano-composite materials were also investigated to study the effect of this nanoparticle on the environment. These nano-composite materials were used to treat the synthetic textile dye effluent and it was observed that the nano-composite materials had the efficiency to reduce the effect of dye present in solution. Further investigation and research work is going on for improving its efficiency.
