We report about the construction and adaptation of experiments to be used for a new Advanced Laboratory Course starting in the Spring semester of 2014. Among the laboratories being adapted are those dealing with topics of superconductivity, X-ray crystallography, the wave-particle duality of electrons, and the properties and functions of lasers. Laboratory protocols are adapted from suggested experiments contained within provided elaborate and lengthy instruction manuals inappropriate for an undergraduate level course. Each experiment is tested and modified to fit into a 3 hour laboratory session at an undergraduate level to demonstrate underlying physical properties of matter and electromagnetic radiation.
