China has already successfully set up the first set of MTO equipment in Inner Mongolia thanks to the breakthrough of catalyst, which means China, has made a great step in the process of changing her energy structure. Process route of MTO suiting the energy structure of rich in coal, lack of oil and poor in gas in China, which could widen the source of ethylene's raw materials, lower the cost of production process and drop the level of depending on importing crude oil has broad prospects for development and strategic significance. Separation operation plays a crucial role in a chemical process. Most products have to be gotten from the end of isolate process rather than the reactor outlet. As for the mixture, especially for mixed hydrocarbons, each component can be separated in different separation sequences that exist imparity energy consumptions. The main principle to distinguish a separation sequence is the components of the feedstock. Compared with catalytic cracking dry gas, the charge gas from MTO owns her special characters. It includes steadier raw material (methanol) than that of catalytic cracking. The heaviest component in charge gas locates C6, which cuts down the segregation trouble. The last one the ratio of ace thane is so low that couldn't effect the quality of main product ethane thence the operation unit acetylene hydrogenation will be got rid of from the separation process. The great project in Inner Mongolia chose the pre-depropanization rank, and got high quality products (polymer grade ethane and propylene) in the consideration of ensure the acetylene hydrogenation reaction pressure.
