The MWSU Alchemist Club has been involved in a number of community outreach and university activities. The activities included Homecoming Blood Drive, Geek Bowl, Pie the Professor, Super Science Saturday, Chemistry Week Pumpkin Blast-a-thon, Boy Scouts Chemistry Education, and CHEMATHON.  The main purpose of the club is to promote excitement for chemistry among members and individuals of all ages. During Chemistry Week, the club promoted chemistry through Pumpkin Blast-a-thon.  Pumpkins were exploded through a number of controlled chemical reactions in which observers could see an exciting part of science. At Super Science Saturday, the club aided in live demos and making gummy worms for elementary students. CHEMATHON allowed high school students from the area to participate in an exam and science games to test their chemistry knowledge in a friendly competition to earn prizes.
