Traditional polymer films have to date been unable to combine clarity, useful mechanical properties, and the ultra high gas barrier properties necessary for flexible electronics.  By bringing together hundreds of layers produced by coextrusion, with incorporation of nanofillers and surface coatings, improvements in these properties can potentially be achieved.  The efforts and results to date by our group using this approach will be discussed.
