Tetrazines Liquid Crystals: Synthesis and Mesogenic StudyFaycal Khabouchi Stark State College, North Canton, OH, 44720Dr. Farid Fouad Kent State University, Kent, OH, 44242The synthesis of symmetrical diphenytetrazines with two ester tails (Tetrazines, Series-2) and Symmetrical di-(2-pyridyl)tetrazines (Tetrazines, Series-3) with two alkoxy tails are demonstrated. Mesogenic studies with DSC, and POM of Series 2, showed Smc phases for compounds with R = C4. Mesogenic studies of tetrazines, Seies-3 is underway.
