The frontier HOMO/LUMO orbital levels, energy gaps, and absorption coefficients of P3HT and three dyes (TCPP, Hemin, and Photoporphyrin) are systematically studied via Cyclic Voltammetry (CV), and UV-vis and Fluororescense spectroscopy.  The study reveals that, TCPP, Hemin and Photoporphyrin exhibit desirable frontier orbitals for photo induced electron transfer from P3HT to dye.  Stern-Volmer plots of P3HT with TCPP, Hemin and protoporphyrin confirmed PL quenching and potential photo induced electron transfer between P3HT and dyes.  The Ksv values of three P3HT/dye pairs are 15300M-1, 9610M-1 and 3400M-1 corresponding to Hemin, protoporphyrin and TCPP, respectively.  However, this Ksv decreasing order is an opposite trend to that of the peak absorption coefficients of the three dyes.  We tested the solar cell devices of P3HT/Dyes/PC60BM at AM 1.5G one Sun intensity.  The power conversion efficiencies (?) are 0.25, 0.039 and 0.032 following the Ksv decreasing trend of Hemin, protoporphyrin and TCPP nicely.  This implies that the power conversion efficiencies of P3HT/Dye/PCBM device are affected more critically by the Ksv than the absorption coefficients of the polymer/dye pairs.
