Turfgrass management is crucial in attracting clientele to a golf course. One component of management involves judicious application of fertilizer and pesticides. This study focuses on the analysis of metal ions found in a stream running through a golf course located in southwestern Pennsylvania. Stream water is analyzed using a Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometer (FAAS) and an Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometer (ICP-OES). The methods are compared for reliability and sensitivity. The findings are then compared to EPA guidelines.
