A diverse family of microporous MOFs consisting of cobalt-adeninate-monocarboxylate building blocks will be introduced and described.  We demonstrate how we can control every level of hierarchical structure in this class of MOFs and illustrate how control over each level of structure allows for careful optimization of various properties essential for selective CO2 capture.  Specific attention is given to the design and preparation of core-shell MOF materials (FIgure 1).
