Sr3Ti2O7 with layered perovskite structure and modified by doping with N, S & Fe2O3 has been investigated for photo catalytic reduction of CO2 (PCR) with water in the UV-Visible region (300-700 nm). Structural, morphological and photo-physical characteristics of the neat and doped catalysts have been studied by XRD, SEM, EDXA, DRS and photo luminescence (PL) spectroscopy. As indicated by the DRS and PL spectra, doping renders the catalysts active in visible region and trapping of the photo electrons by the dopants leads to the separation of charge carriers and hence an increase in their life time. Doping with Fe2O3 is highly effective in suppressing recombination. These two factors are responsible for the observed increase in activity on doping, vis-�-vis undoped Sr3Ti2O7. The formulation with co-doping of anions, N & S together with Fe2O3 , wherein the influence of these factors are maximum, displays maximum activity. CO2 conversion on Titania P-25, when doped with N &S, under identical experimental conditions, is less, at 0.44% compared to 0.95% for N & S doped Sr3Ti2O7. When modified suitably Sr3Ti2O7 could be a better alternative for PCR applications
