Bismuth-Telluride based materials are mainly used for thermoelectric (TE) materials because of its high TE performance around the room temperature in 200 ~ 450 K. To improve characteristic of TE properties such as thermal conductivity, Seebeck coefficient, and resistivity, preparation method is important. Bismuth-Antimony-Tellurium (BST) based powders as p-type materials were prepared by ultrasonic spray pyrolysis in this study. Spray pyrolysis, one of the gas phase reaction method, consist three parts such as droplet generator, reactor, powder collector [1]. The schematic diagram of spray pyrolysis method was shown in Fig. 1. The diameter and length of reactor tube were 1000 and 55 mm, respectively. The ultrasonic spray generator with a 1.7-MHz has six vibrators. The droplet was carried into the tubular furnace by carrier gas at a flow rate range from 5 to 20 L min-1. The reactor temperature was increased from 500 to 1000oC. The reactor temperature was increased from 500 to 1000�C. The powder prepared from spray pyrolysis has various advantages such as spherical shape, fine size, preparation of multi-component particles. The phase of prepared thermoelectric particles was analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The microstructures of powders were characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), a high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM, FE-TEM, 200kV JEM2100F, JEOL).
