In 2010, Congress urged the USEPA to �carry out a study on the relationship between hydraulic fracturing and drinking water, using a credible approach that relies on the best available science, as well as independent sources of information.� This presentation will review the background for Congress' request, describe the stakeholder process in which EPA has engaged to ensure transparency of the study, and describe the structure, rationale, and description of EPA's research and expected results.
