The combination of ion trapping and cooling with slow electron velocity-map imaging enables the measurement of very high resolution (sub-meV) photoelectron spectra of a wide variety of negative ions. These spectra reveal extensive vibrational structure that serves as a detailed structural probe of the species of interest. Results will be presented on transition metal oxide clusters and free radicals that can be formed by photodetachment.
